Alberta OH&S Compliant

Alberta Occupational Health & Safety

Our Code of Practice, hazard assessments and site procedures are written and enforced against the Alberta OHS Act, Regulation and Code.

Every task on your site runs to a documented, legislated procedure — inspection-ready at any time.

Code of Practice

Every task has a written procedure

Management has put the emphasis on a safety conscious workplace — the manual is how that gets enforced in the field.

Code of Practice Manual

Ruel Concrete has developed a Code of Practice manual listing in detail every procedure relevant to a given task assigned to a worker or a specific job.

Everyone Has the Information

All pertinent information is available to everyone involved so the job gets completed safely — workers are encouraged to fully understand their assigned scope or ask questions if in doubt.

Open Door Policy

An open door policy means workers can raise a concern with management at any time and do their job with safety and confidence.

The Program

How we run a safe site

SECOR and COR requirements are the floor, not the ceiling. These elements are active on every project we bid.

Monitored & Updated Annually

The program is reviewed every year — policies, hazard assessments and forms are revised against current legislation and lessons learned in the field.

Hazard Assessment & Control

Formal site-specific assessments plus daily FLHAs before work begins, with ground-disturbance and locate procedures on every excavation.

Toolbox & Tailgate Meetings

Documented crew meetings covering scope changes, traffic control, confined space and spotter duties for equipment near live utilities.

Competency Training

H2S Alive, WHMIS, Standard First Aid, Ground Disturbance 201 and equipment-specific competency records maintained for every operator.

Incident Reporting & Investigation

Near-miss and incident reporting with root-cause investigation and corrective actions tracked to closure.

Inspections & Maintenance

Scheduled equipment inspections, pre-trip logs and preventative maintenance keep the fleet jobsite-ready and compliant.
